Forest of Demons

This is one of my original house for Halloween Horror Nights based on Japanese ghost stories, folklore and urban legends.

Facade: Guest will enter through a torii or shrine gate, all neglected with overgrown vegetation, sutra scrolls, and statues.

Jubokko: Once guests enter the maze, they navigate their way through a forested area. Spectral lights flickr in the darkness, suddenly they will ambushed by claw like branches from the Jubokko, the vampire tree.

Kappa: After escaping from the bloody thirsty Jubokko, they cross a bridge where the river is littered with drowned bodies. Kappas emerge from underneath the bridge and will squirt water at them.

Jorogumo: Entering an abandoned house filled with enormous cobwebs, a geisha can be seen playing on a kabuki. But she is not human, she is a Jorogumo a spider woman, her victims emerge from behind webs as they warn guests what will happen to them. Another jurogumo will emerge in her spider form with multiple eyes, fangs, and spindly fingers.

Namahage: Guests walk through a wooded pathway with only paper lanterns to guide them through the forest. They are then ambushed by Namahage emerging from the underbrush as they brandish sharp blades.

Statues: Guests will navigate through a pathway lined with statues of deities, saints, and demons. Some of them will be scare-actors that will come to life.

Yuki Onna: Guests find themselves in snow covered forest with frozen corpses of victims of the Yuki Onna, The Snow Spirit. The temperature has dropped to 40 degrees as snow falls from the ceiling, suddenly the spirit of Yuki Onna materializes from out of nowhere as she delivers a shrill scream at the guests.

Gashadokuro: Guests are confronted by an enormous Skelton called Gashadokuro, as it gigantic bony hands try to grab at the guests.

Hanoko-san: Guests enter a bathroom all neglected and stained with blood. They hear the voice a young girl saying "I'm here." The ghost of a young girl in red skirts manifests and shrieks at the guests, as water sprays guests from the toilets.

Kichusake Ona: Guests navigate their way through a neglected graveyard, where a woman holding a fan over her face. She asks passing guests "Am I pretty?" She then removes her fan and exposes her disfigured mouth a hideous grin, and says "How about now?!" and brandishes scissors at the guests.

Jigoku/Finale: Guests find themselves in the Japanese Underworld, Jigoku, which makes Dante's Inferno look like a children's book. Here Enma Daio, the judge and ruler of Hell, threats guests of their punishments as demonic Oni attack guests from different directions.
